Music Camp 2007 took place July 8–13, 2007 and had 137 campers and 30 staff. All are pictured below, ready to sing, play and give praise to “The Risen One”.

The week started with a sad note – Cabin 16 has been “retired”. Finding out only three weeks before camp caused some shuffling among the boy campers and staff along with the location of the morning show, but in fine Music Camp tradition – we made do.

Along with the sadness came the heat – the Erie area had been without rain for a while, which caused the camp to have a lot of dry grass – and another thing – ticks. Campers learned how to check themselves for the little buggers. Wednesday morning brought a short storm – a terrific Lake Erie thunderstorm – that brought relief from the heat for the rest of the week.

As stated earlier – the morning show had to move – a tent in the Outdoor Chapel – and we played on – dancing in the vale, and no cops again. While not singing in choir, or practicing in the band, our campers enjoyed swimming in the lake, softball, Frisbee, soccer, a summer snowball battle – and of course the water slide.

In the evenings we had the Music Camp Bible Trivia, a biblical photo scavenger hunt and the ever-popular Capture the Flag. Pete returned this year – and with the musical stylings of Jeremy McDonald – sang the rules “The Legend of Cabin 16”:

Also in the evenings we had our club time with the Lambec club praise team, and Karl leading.

Again a successful outdoor concert closed our week – an evening of praise to our God – that our families were privileged to attend.

The staff of Music Camp (shown here mourning Cabin 16) hope to see all the campers next year.
