Music Camp 2005 – eXtreme Praize – was held July 10–15, 2005. This year had 159 campers and 31 staff. The entire camp is pictured below.

An Extreme week, with extreme praise, talking about extreme faith in the extreme heat. Of course Pete and Dave woke us from a restful sleep promptly at 7AM. (well, close to 7 anyway) Campers danced in the vale and enjoyed the music, even Rah-Rah and some of the Lambec Staff joined us each day. Only one call to the police (ho-hum).

The weather for the week was great, except it was EXTREMELY HOT all week! Each day at free time there was softball and ultimate Frisbee games and swimming in the lake. Wednesday, when we were setting up the water slide, a thunderstorm caused it to be put away till Thursday.

For our evening programs this year we ‘ran’ an extreme Bible trivia. Cabins pitted against on another to answer questions from the Bible, as created by ‘Reverend Jim’. Oh yeah – to get your questions, you had to send a representative across Camp, get the question, take it back to the cabin, then run the answer back. On Tuesday we held a extreme digital scavenger hunt. Again pitting cabins against each other, each cabin had to answer a question using their Bible, and take a digital picture of it, or a re-creation of the answer. Of course we held our traditional Wednesday night after dark Capture the Flag. This year we enjoyed a 70’s revival with the history of capture the flag sung to “I will Survive” and the rules “Grab that little flag, it’s white boy.”

Hurricane Dennis decided to dampen the end of our week with some outbursts of rain. Downpours that did not last long but were hard driving. When the weather report that predicted more of the same, we moved our concert again to the Family Center at the Federated Church, so Friday afternoon was spent packing and setting up for the concert move.

We hope to see all the campers and friends next year at Music Camp 2006!
